Drama Club: The Exposè [Jan. 24th, 2006|11:03 pm]
[music |Old Crow Medicine Show - "Wagon Wheel"]

Yeah, so I'm liek at school today and then it's 3:00P.M. and teh bell like rings. So I go on my merry way to the Little Theater for the drama club meeting and see Chelsea Black and Catherine sitting there on the stage with the sign-in sheet. So I'm all signing it and sitting down on a frozen seat 'cause it's like -30 degrees in the Little Theater. And I'm just a-sitting there waiting for the meeting to begin and Rachel walks in the theatre 'cause she was all like "I wanna be in Drama Club" earlier. So she signed in like I did and went a-sittin' next to me. We commenced to sit there a while and laugh at all the dumb shenanigans going on around us. The source of the said shenanigans being some of the other members of the drama club who happen to have a questionable intellect.

Anyway, after sittin' there for a while, the meeting was started and everybody started talkin' about fundraisin' ideas. Rachel spoke up there and relayed her idea to put on a show (or concert for those uninitiated) to raise some money like she did for the American Cancer Society. And now that I think about, that should be the first CM show; CM's first real exposure to the public.

Then all that talkin' was over and the meeting moved on to improvisation games. First, Daniel Capshaw and Whitney Huckabee went up there on the stage and did started some dumb game where Whitney's a male lawyer and Daniel's a Geisha and they're both in Japan. They spoke in "Japanese" and Rachel and I were the translators for that dumb little game.

So that game was over, and the next one started. Only this game included me! So I got up on that stage and had to do this game with the two Daniels. I was a crack dealer, one Daniel just bought some from me, and the other Daniel just showed up randomly with his jacket under his shirt (to simulate pregnancy). Since it was set in London, I had to use a British accent and, I have to say, my performance totally out-did both of the Daniels.

After that little skit was over, the new kid from some Creative Arts school in Chattanooga named a bunch of improv. games he used to do at his old school. We agreed to do this one game where we stand in a semi-circle and make up a story based on a made-up title given by the "audience". Eh, explaining it is kinda lame so I'll just skip it and the last skit we did.

So yeah, that was yesterday in Drama Club. I hope enojyed as much as I didn't.

Okay! Here's an update [Jan. 20th, 2006|07:57 pm]
[music |Spoon - "Paper Tiger"]

So, to recap a little since my last update, I somehow managed to make it through Mrs. Keef's room with a *gasp* 100. Needless to say, I finished all of those projects that kept piling up those last few weeks last semester.

Especially that SVEC paper. I actually turned in an invasion story about unicorns and butterflies attacking Jasper and how it relates to SVEC. Speaking of which, I should probably find out what I made on that.

And um, then we were out of school, and I believe I went with Emily and Brandon to go bowling in Dunlap the weekend after school was over. Alas, the bowling alley was closed that day and we had to return home without any bowling.

The day after the non-bowling incident, I went to a party at Elizabeth Warren's house. It was quite fun despite the 30 degree weather and the defective fire. Emily, Brandon, Zack, Annie, and a bunch of other people were there to keep the party entetaining. However, I had to leave early to go to Pigeon Forge for a few days vacation. It was rather mundane being there in the mountains again. I did find some Bob Dylan CDs there for really cheap prices which is all I brought back.

Um, my brother and his wife met us in Pigeon Forge and we all went back to our house. Brian and Cristina stayed with us for a few days and we had Christmas together.

Then the last few days of the break withered away and school started again.

..and so on, this all I'm gonna write for now.

I am going to try to update this more often now!

I think..

If I remember to.

yeah

Love'll Get You Like a Case of Anthrax [Dec. 5th, 2005|10:57 pm]
[music |The Zombies - "A Rose for Emily"]

Well, I've been fairly busy with school work the past few days. I've finished a few things on my list.
Here's how it now stands:

-Critique Papers(just 4)

-Sequatchie Valley Electric Co-op paper

-Famous People Project (for U.S. History)

Yay! Only three things left! I did start on the SVEC paper last week and, let's just say, it's one of the best stories in the history of literature. Ever.

Okay, I know, it's a small update. But I will return with more later, I think.

I Found That Essence Rare [Nov. 28th, 2005|11:03 pm]
[music |Einstürzende Neubauten - "Feurio!" hah!...yeah right]

Okay. So this is going to be quick entry since I'm going straight to be right after I finish this. School has been quite hectic since it's the end of semester and my teachers decided to assign as many projects and essays as they could. So I'm going to make a list of all of the crap I have to do in the next couple of weeks to help me keep track.

Here it is:

-Critique Papers (3 and 4)

-Make up TCAP writing assesment

-Sequatchie Valley Electric Co-op paper

-Presidents Project (for U.S. History)

-Famous People Project (for U.S. History)

Eh, that's it. I'm sure I'm forgetting something else. But that's all going to post for now, I'll update more later.

Hello Livejournal, it's been a while. [Oct. 14th, 2005|11:01 pm]
[music |The Minutemen - "Corona"]

In this entry I'd like to focus mainly on the current status of my band which may be called CM, or Cervical Mucus. A few weeks ago, Brandon came over to my house and we had a band practice of sorts. I played my acoustic guitar and he played the keyboards for a while. WE eventually made one song totally off the top of our heads currently called "AIN'T GOT NO CAT". So after this monumental accomplishment Brandon left and the practice was over.

My next "band" practice occurred last Sunday, but didn't include Brandon. It all started when Kevin Bennett called me after last Friday's football game and said that he got Shane Poe to agree to drum for our "band". So our "practice" was set up for Sunday. Sunday came around and I met up with Kevin and we went down to Shane's new house. I hooked up my guitar to my amp and Kevin hooked his bass guitar to his amp (using MY cord by the way, that cheap bastard). We/I spent some minutes tuning the guitars and then some more minutes trying to think of something to play. Then Shane started playing his drums really loudly and it drowned out the guitars almost completly. That was basically the rest of the "practice". I would start playing something and then Shane would come in on drums blazing in a loudness and speed that didn't match anything anyone was playing. Needless to say, nothing was accomplished.

But more importantly, a certain someone is going away for a week and a half much to my dismay. *deep sighingggg*

That is all, for now.

(no subject) [Jul. 25th, 2005|12:20 am]
[music |Buzzcocks - "I Don't Know What To Do With My Life"]

Ahh, this has been a lazy week of sorts. I've spent most of it playing the two Halo games with Brandon or the recently ultra-banned version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas or some old super nintendo games I rediscovered.

However, I have been trying to stay/get into shape with running and teh other various exercises. But mostly video games. =/

As far as my music goes, I'm trying to start writing whole songs/improving on ones I've already written. Mostly, though, I just put off playing guitar until late at night when I'll make up something I like and record it on my mic so I won't forget it the next day. Though, I'll usually end up neglecting what I wrote and forgetting about it anyway. So far, I have about 45 samples of music on my computer that are just sitting there. =/

A Perry Bible comic. (http://www.cheston.com/pbf/archive.html)

I have the sudden urge to go to Chattanooga and buy one of those NES or SNES classics on Gameboy Advance.  Does anyone know if Super Mario RPG was re-released for the Gameboy Advance or any hand held?  Because that would be awesome if it was.

I also want the new Beck CD.

I need to get my driver's license instead of thinking about games.

Heh, oh well.

Oh it's such a lovely day today, we should all be outside

I need some inspiration to start writing again.

[music |Bright Eyes - "Road to Joy"]

Hey, ummmmm. MY BROTHER GOT MARRIED! Yes that's right! My brother, Brian Baskette, got MARRIED! He and his girlfriend of a few months, Christina, got MARRIED in Cookville! On Wednesday! Without telling anyone (until last night)!

Amazing isn't it? They just got a marriage certificate and they plan on having a ceremony sometime this summer, possibly in our backyard; our BACKYARD!

WOW!

All is quiet except for this song so maybe while I'm not together, I can feel like I'm not alone [Feb. 12th, 2005|04:58 pm]
Read this: http://www.livejournal.com/users/catelin/179683.html =D

--------

Okay. I've been sick since last Friday with some kind of infection that turned out to be the early stages of pneumonia. So several boxes of tissues and antibiotics later I'm starting to feel better; though I'm still getting blood out of my nose from my sinuses which sucks. At least now I can sleep for longer than 3 hours at a time and my throat can tolerate food.

And so the boredom sets in...I'm going to go write a song now.

Bye!

Part 2 of a rant I wrote a few days ago that LJ won't let me post in its entirety [Feb. 6th, 2005|03:24 pm]
Unfortunately, I feel like this, or better yet I've felt like this for a long time. It's definately had it's affect, because sometimes someone might say something out of the blue to me that they have never said to me and I have no idea how to reply. Granted, if it's someone I know, I'll know what to say but oft times it isn't and I can't find a good reply.

It and the fact I don't have a girlfriend also seem to have killed my motivation to do just about anything productive when I get home since I don't have the load of homework from last semster. I basically have used the time to learn a few gutiar chords and some songs, but most of the time has been spent playing Resident Evil 4 (a great game by the way). I sort of got a band started with Kevin (who now all of a sudden wants to quit bass and play guitar), maybe Brandon, and Adam Hughes; but we haven't discussed how or when we will start with practicing.

[music |Suicide - "Rocket Town U.S.A."]

Have you ever been so caught up in the status quo that every day just seems go by almost exactly the same? It's like your mind is on auto-pilot and you merely watch until the end of the week and it all just blurs together and seems like one very long, monotonous day.

And in school you can tell what everyone is going to do day after day because that's all they ever seem to do. Though, ocassionally, some minor things might happen that are different but when you try to remember anything else, all the days seem the same

We...are all fucked [Feb. 3rd, 2005|06:57 pm]
[music |The Zutons - "Pressure Point"]

I happened to be watching one of the local news channels a couple of weeks ago with my parents when one of the news anchors said that scientists were working on a "gay bomb" that would turn enemy soldiers gay. Now, at the time, I thought my ears had decieved me and I heard it wrong. I also thought that no one could possibly be that stupid to try something like that and get government support.

Alas, I just happened to find this tidbit of info on that bomb: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,146087,00.html

Yes it's true, someone actually tried to make such a bomb for military use.

*sigh*

God's Away On Business [Jan. 13th, 2005|04:24 pm]
[music |Quasi - Go Fuck Yourself]

Well, as you probably know, I'm about a week into my second semester of being a sophomore at the incredibly prestigious (sarcasm) Marion County High School. My schedule is considerably lighter than before. The only class I was assigned a book was Algebra II with Ms. Smith who so far has been very lenient on homework. I have Ms. Mooneyham again except this time with Contemporary Issues. I sort have gotten used to her by now what with her random anti Bill Clinton comments and conservative ways.

Other than those classes, I have two filler classes: Information Management with Mr. V and Theater Arts with Ms. Priest. We don't really learn anything in these two as Info. management is basically Keyboarding part II except with a better teacher, and the most we get out of Theater Arts is useless trivia about famous musicals/John Wayne movies.

That's basically my whole semester; not all too interesting, but I want to know why there was a toilet in the hallway today. Rachel, did you find that one out?

Oh, I was just informed that Marion County scored overall an F for English and C's in all the other subjects for testing.

Also, I have to go back to the high school at 7 for a Beta Club meeting about the trip to Chicago that we probably won't even have. When I think about, the only reasons why we have a Beta Club is so that you can use it to your advantage when trying to apply for colleges, and for discussing what the trip is going to be. THAT'S IT. Seriously, Club meetings consist of only Ms. Ramsey and Ms. Brown (because Ms. Strain has had problems showing up, which doesn't show fucking leadership qualities, now does it MS. STRAIN?[reference to something Ms. Strain got on to me about]) talking about the food-can drive or the plans for the trip and then the meeting's over.

Another qualm I have with the Beta Club is when we had to go to Ketner's Mill to take out garbage cans and neither Ms. Brown nor Ms. Strain showed up because THEY WERE VACATIONING. It's kind of hard to do a job when there is NO ONE THERE TO TELL YOU WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO DO. We had to find some guy that works there to tell us where the garbage bags and a vague explanation of what we were to do that day. So we spent about 8 hours replacing garbage bags and they smelled HORRIBLE, nauseating even. We still had to pick up garbage even when it started pouring down rain, and it was already like 40 or so degrees. I remember Sara getting sick from it and throwing up. And I don't think we got one thanks for it; Ms. Strain brushed it off saying something like well, now you know what it's like to have to pick garbage all day.

Anyway.

My parents got me a new computer for my birthday which is having problems getting connected to the internet which should be resolved soon...

Rachel, you need to remind me to give you those ear rings my mom wanted you to have (remember from New Year's? she's been dead-set on giving them to you lol) Oh, and that Dresden Dolls CD I still need to burn. Hehe, I'll try to get that as soon as possible.

Okay, that's it.

School tomorrow...blegh.

I had a horrible nightmare like two nights ago. I was at school and I had just been assigned another ridiculous project by Ms. Strain. What was so bad about it though was that I started working on it and it was like in full detail of every little thing I had to do. Too bad I forgot exactly what it was, but oh well. Truly terrifying, really.
